I was born in Belfast, Ireland, in 1959. I've spent over forty years painting, teaching, and exhibiting — a lifetime devoted to the Irish landscape and the light that makes it worth painting. Born in Belfast, I've built my career both in Ireland and the USA, and my work is now collected and published internationally, with clients across Europe and North America.
Teaching has always been part of who I am, both in art and art history, and I bring the same patience and clarity to every painting holiday I lead that I bring to my own students. When you join me in Ireland, you're not just being shown amazing scenery — you're learning to see it, and paint it, from someone who has spent a lifetime doing exactly that.
I'm not a media personality or someone who took up organizing painters as a second career. I'm a working, celebrated Irish painter, and that's the difference I bring to your time here: real instruction, real insight, and real access to the landscapes that have shaped my own art.
